A few years ago, I was lucky enough to work as Paul Gilligan's assistant on his tremendously wonderful strip "Pooch Cafe," coloring Sunday strips, adding grayscales to dailies, and a bunch of other random stuff too fascinating to detail here. Occasionally, a Sunday strip would call for a side panel parody of a movie poster that dovetailed with the theme of that day's entry, and I got to spend far too much time trying to match the parody to the original design. Also included: a few friendly drawings I did for Paul on the occasion of our working anniversaries and the 10th anniversary of the strip.

Paul's a great guy, and the strip is easily the best thing going on the comics page today. Go read it, won't you?
